(Exchange for the Organization and Promotion of Small Entrepreneurs)

Pioneer of micro-credit in Africa, ECHOPPE has helped more than 200,000 women in Togo since its creation

in 1990. These urban women “entrepreneurs” have escaped extreme poverty by

income-generating activities and gaining their autonomy.

Building on its successes and continuing in the same spirit, ECHOPPE has created a new program in the form of a social enterprise: PLANET FARMERS. The objective is to develop agricultural production,

increase incomes and adapt practices to fight the effects of climate change.

This experimentation, using rigorous evaluation methods, has the ambition of providing small

farmers and their families the means to live better in the countryside instead of migrating to the cities or to Europe.

Relationship with Echoppe

With over 30 years of experience, in Togo Echoppe aims to redirect its actions to work with Planet Farmers. This entrepreneurial structure provides a supporting role to farmers for developing the necessary orientation towards agroecological development.
